Really lost. There's a plethora of possibilities regarding this freak weather, but it was a wise choice to go and review their own wizarding history. See what the old folks have found out...and how they managed to pull through it. Simon, obviously, already went on ahead and opened books and whatnot. Ethan too, took note...and along the way, he caught sight of something.

The date. 2048? He knew he read that date somewhere.

Ethan got his satchel and got his own detective notebook. And in between its pages, he pulled out the article that Professor Romanos had given them during class about the Skygge. Could it be coincidence? "I know the Quibbler isn't the most reliable source of information, but this could be something. Look at the date. November of 2048." Ethan showed the piece of article to Watson Simon and waited for his input. It may not be related to Archeoastronomy, but all materials on hand should be taken into account. "...I reckon we get all the information we can find, then deduce from there." Sounds like a plan, no?

No onto some more legit information...hmm.
SPOILER!!: Botros

He scratched his chin, a little concerned. "I haven't found one that dealt with archaeoastronomy. Must've misplaced them, or had them back home." The fact that they were pretty much trapped in was getting more and more troublesome. Botros sighed and continued, "I'm sure we'll find something in here, though." He nodded and turned to the students, looking for anyone who needed help.
Oh, Mr. Holden had an interesting theory. Ab, who seated himself on an empty chair, looked up at Airey with meaningful eyes. "That's an interesting question, son. I don't believe the whereabouts of the book is accurately known to the general public."It was waaay after Botros had been in Hogwarts, he'd been in Egypt and now he squinted his eyes trying to remember the latest they knew about said book... he did have his doubts about it being relevant to what they were researching, though.
Botros' attention was drawn to Cambridge... with books around her, no less. Well, this was a sight he was going to take to his grave. With a smile, not because of the idea of being cursed per se, but because this was a precious scene right there. "You should know, Miss Cambridge, from a former lesson of ours that the very blocks that make Hogwarts' stones are etched with strong Runic Wards that repel curses." He gave her a playful disappointed look, but his smile didn't leave his face.

"However, that's not a bad idea... actually, we can use what we learnt from that lesson in unraveling those potential curses..." He looked expectantly at the Gryffindor, then over to her Hufflepuff friend.

"Right, glad to hear it, mate," said Simon as he grinned at Ethan. Yep, the two of them had this detective duo thing going on. It just all happened on the first day that they had met back in October when it was a little bit warmer than it was now.

As Simon was busy flipping through various textbooks, Ethan spoke up about the article that Professor Romanos had given to them during the second Defense Against the Dark Arts class. Ah, very clever Sherlock. Very clever. Simon nodded. "Right. Good idea. Look at everything just in case. And that fits in to the whole thing with the Book of Mysteria. The name itself sounds like a clue alone... I'm not sure if it'd fit into archeoastronomy but it definitely has something to do with the extreme winter weather that we're experiencing," he explained and then an idea popped into his head. If the Book of Mysteria somehow caused the snow to fall heavily back in 2048 and it had spells that attracted the Dark Arts- perhaps it was attracting the Skurge? He blinked. Maybe that was a little too far-fetched but it could work, hey?

Before he could reply to Ethan, Professor Flamsteed told them to look at something like a codex. Hmmm.. He nodded giving the Professor a faint smile and then turned back to Holmes. "I think that's a good plan but how about you get started on that and I'll take a look at this 'codex'? he said. And after they had gathered enough information then the two could confer. Without an answer, Simon began to conduct his research. He needed to look for keywords anything to do with 'extreme weather', 'archeoastronomy', and 'Book of Mysteria'. He felt as if those words would lead him to something.

Now Professor Botros' response seemed to tell the young third year that he didn't know much about the book either. Hmmm... He gave the Professor a kind smile and turned back to his reading. He had to look for things about archeoastronomy, extreme weather, and the codex. However, the more Simon looked at through these various books, the more he kept on coming back to the Book of Mysteria.

Hmm...
