No, he hadn't killed it, just like he promised. Which was a bit annoying, because he knew he wouldn't be able to bring himself to kill it now if he ever needed to. Maybe he'd have to visit the Magical Menagerie again and get himself another salamander and not promise anyone he wouldn't kill that one. And he'd go ahead and buy some plimpies too. Yeah, sounded like a plan.
