Sure enough, it was Z, who was looking outside like her life depended on it. Or she really was stuck. Marigold imitated her and looked out at the snow.

"What are you thinking about?"

"I don't think I'm thinking anything," Zahra answered honestly. "My brain froze a while ago. Before it did, I was thinking about how the Claws would react if I started burning books for warmth."

She tugged her nose from the glass, the end of it BEET RED and raw. And NOW, she was accumulating snow. Zahra brushed it all off of her shoulders in one big SWEEP. Then gave a huge, body wide SHIVER. "We could build a snowwife for a suit of armor soon."
