Obviously it was expected to be cold as it was winter, but this was the coldest one that she had ever experienced in her life. "Just let me know if you get too warm." It wouldn't be any good if Zander started getting hot flashes again.
Nod. Professor Bentley definitely is awesome. "She made me an Honorary Lion." Well, she had been one since last term, but it was amazing to be welcomed into Gryffindor by it's Head of House. Too bad there hadn't been a ceremony, because cake would have been lovely. But it was okay, because she had a cucumber sandwich then and they were delicious. "Do you like cucumber sandwiches, Zander?" Hopefully he did because that would mean that they could eat them together which would be a lot of fun.
Biting her lip, Lux was so curious to ask more about this mystery girl that Zander had a crush on. Who was she? How old was she? Had they already met? So many questions that she couldn't ask because he would probably start removing clothes again. It was hard enough getting him to put them back on the first time, she didn't think she could go through it again. And more importantly it would make him sick. But what did he mean that he felt like she was everywhere? Was she constantly hanging around him? "Maybe she likes you back and she is shy too!" Lots of people were shy, so it was possible.
Pleased with having helped him with his homework, Lux continued to eat the macaroni and cheese. First she finished the container from the kitchens, and then the one made with the Rune. IT WAS SO GOOD. Lux was being so nice to him. Firstly for not running away when he started taking off his clothes and stuff. And now for the ventus charm. And then for offering more help. Wow. She really was good at this whole helping others stuff. Now Zander knew why he couldn't be labeled as a Hufflepuff. Even though everyone called him one... He could never actually be one. Because Lux was exhibiting the perfect Hufflepuff behavior with all of this kindness and though Zander didn't see himself as anything opposite, he knew he could never offer this kind of warmth. And he's not just talking about the ventus charm here, people. Anyways. This is the part of the story where his conscious started to kick in.
BECAUSE AH. Lux was being so nice.
AND HE WAS LYING TO HER.
HE WAS LYING STRAIGHT TO HER NICE-KIND-VENTUS-CHARM-DOING FACE.
DARN YOU, CONSCIENCE.
No. He would not let it win. Nope. Instead, Zander tried really hard to focus on what Lux was saying. Honorary Lion? "How'd you get that title?" Not like he was really dying to know why. But his voice sounded desperate. Almost pleading. Anything to keep her talking and to keep him from spilling the beans. AH. The sweating was coming back, but this time it wasn't because he was thinking about a certain professor, it was because of the conscious. DARN YOU, CONSCIENCE (part two). But before he could start tugging at his collar again, Lux starting speaking once more. Cucumber sandwiches? Did he like them? That was random... "Well I've never had them before... But I guess I'd probably like them!" Because any food was good food. Except veggies. "Wait... Are cucumbers veggies or fruit?" Because that would be the deciding factor.
You know, all this talk about cucumbers was talking his mind off of-- LUX WHY'D YOU GOTTA BRING IT BACK TO BENTLEY AGAIN!? Like him back?! NO WAY. Bentley just thought he was adorable and a dear. But in a child way. There's absolutely no way that a woman like her, would like a child like him. Sigh. Some love is just never meant to be. WHICH ALSO BROUGHT HIM TO HIS NEXT POINT, HIS CONSCIENCE THING. He couldn't stand to lie to Lux any longer. Especially after she was all nice to him. And that time they worked together in Arithmancy. And then when she encouraged him in the dueling arena. And after all the lessons. And NO HE COULD NOT BARE TO LIE TO HER ANYMORE. "LUX, I'VE GOT TO TELL YOU SOMETHING!" He blurted out. It was kind of all of the sudden. And really out of no where. And it was more like shouting it at her. More than he had intended. "I haven't been completely honest with you..." AND HE FELT LIKE SUCH A BAD PERSON!
