Ugh, no... Derek was not early.

He wasn't late either, he was just on time. That meant, however, that other people were probably there already and would look his way as he opened the door and entered the room. That was bad. That was really bad.

The lab technician aprehensively opened the door and silently slipped in, avoiding looking anyone in the eye but, when that ended up happening, he would give the person a nod before looking away again. Ugh, he did not appreciate these Department meetings at all. He already knew he'd be working by himself in his lab and that was enough for him; that was all he needed to know.

But he was there nonetheless. He didn't take any coffee or pastries. Derek sat on the chair furthest away from the crowd and waited for the meeting to end.
