Lorelai’s voice could be heard from the garden, where Corbin and Nathan were testing Nathans new broom.

“He started it.” The five year old whined, struggling in her mother’s arms to reach for her brother, older by barely a year. “Ringo took my pencils.”

“They’re not yours, they’re for sharing.” Ringo waved the pencils in front of Lilah’s face as she continued to grab at them. “AND you’re really bad at colouring, anyway.”

Their mother took the pencils and put them on a shelf, out of their reach, and then left her children in separate rooms.
