Cris couldn't help but burst out laughing when AJ immediately took off, her little legs ~~paddling~~ running as fast as they could to carry her along. Then he took off after her, his long strides quickly bringing him along side her and then past. As he ran past her, he noticed the look of determination on her face and that's when he knew he had to allow her win.

So he began to shorten his strides and his pace. Maybe he could trip somewhere near the finishing line. Yes that he could do that most ably...and without hurting himself in the process either. Yes that was a good plan indeed.
