Frustration, sadness and all that negative emotions are foreign to the young boy. After attending a not so good potions class, Ethan decided to get on with his Defense Homework, which included practicing the Reductor Curse. What better way to release that frustration and cool his head than setting a dummy into smithereens, yeah? The Slytherin opened the door to the arena and found familiar faces practicing the Curse. He gave a nod and a wave to those who saw him came in and got himself a dummy at the far end of the room. As much as he wanted to interact with the others, he thought it best to be alone for now until he got his feelings sorted.
Yup.
Focusing on the dummy before him, Ethan got his wand out and practiced the spell inside his head and the wand movement with his hand. Without warning, Mordred’s voice rang in his head just before he casted the spell. “Remember that intent is key to make an offensive or defensive spell to work. It should be simultaneous with your incantation.” Ethan breathed in and extended his arm forward, wand dangerously pointing at the dummy. “Reducto!” with an image of an exploding dummy in his mind before he even casted his spell, Ethan was able to blow up the dummy’s head. Didn’t Mordred tell him that emotion can play a huge part too? The Slytherin pursed his lips as he looked down on the floor and twisted his wand wrist preparing himself for the next blow. If he was in a good mood, he would have exalted right then and there that he got the spell right on the first try, but didn’t.
Mordred's right after all. Ethan could be a dangerous wizard if he masters the art of focusing his mind on the task at hand.
