Victor picked up his refilled glass and finished half of its contents in one go. The rush of the firewhiskey burned his throat, making him shut his eyes tight to ignore the uncomfortable sensation. The funny thing was, Victor actually wasn’t much of a drinker. He only really drank during Hall’s parties, and even then, he had always preferred to remain sober (being drunk meant losing control, and control was one thing Victor would never willingly give up), and would only have a drink or two which he would make last the entire night.

Tonight, however, he had finally let go of the one thing that made him who he was: self-control. And the firewhiskey sure was making it easy.

When the boy turned back to his only company in the entire room, her back was turned to him. Victor smiled; not one of his cold, calculated smiles. It was a lazy, drunken smile, though the usual cruel mocking was still hidden within. She was simply adorable, thinking that by ignoring him he would just disappear into thin air, that he would suddenly decide he’d had enough of emotionally torturing her.

“Don’t tell me…” Victor started slowly, taking in the sight of her small frame. Suddenly, he seemed to remember the first time he saw her at Hall’s Shrieking Shack party. She’d had her back turned to them, her brown hair the same as now, but wearing a Wonder Woman costume instead of a Hogwarts uniform. She’d looked incredible. “…That you honestly thought I would kiss you, Mondai,” he continued, almost mockingly as he closed the distance between them to stand right behind her.

“…Did you want me to kiss you?” His voice was only a whisper as he leaned in ever so slightly to break some of their height difference.
