Derek simply shrugged when the random woman asked him if he thought that would work. He hoped so, but he knew that if it did work, Derek himself would get really mad. It would be like they had spent all that time locked out of the Ministry for nothing at ALL.

He watched intently as the phone booth started going down and he could already feel the mixture of relief and anger growing in his chest when the booth shook like crazy and suddenly stopped. Merlin! Was anyone dead??

The lab technician got closer to the booth and crouched next to it to make sure everyone was... well, still alive, at least. ...Apparently they were. Not very happy, but at least they looked alive. Derek didn't know, however, if they would like him to try and send them back up or if it would be beter to just try and get them down there once and for all.

"I have... some acid here." Corrosive stuff and all. Derek told his boss. He tried his best not to look at the other people - hopefully they were too busy freaking out to look at him speaking to his boss. But anyway, he had some corrosive with him. For metals. Just in case.

But WHAT was he doing?? A shiver went down his spine when he realised he was speaking when so many people could stare up at him. Urgh. The former Gryffindor glanced up at the random woman who was waiting outside with him (Victoria) and gave her a look that meant 'keep an eye out for Muggles'. Hopefully she'd understand the message without him having to speak to her as well.

Pulling out his wand and just deciding it would be better to send them down - they were already trying to go down anyway - Derek, copying his boss' idea, muttered 'Descendo Maxima' and then... watched.

If that failed he'd go for the acid. Maybe he could find a way to pass the vial to Aron and they could melt the floor of the phone booth and then use a spell to float down or whatever. Derek didn't have to do all the thinking and definitely not all the talking either. So he kept quiet, hoping his spell would work and they'd get down because he wanted to know how his lab was doing.
