He could see the ravine ahead, and some of the urgency had drained out of the situation now that he was being chased by a partially transfigured duck, rather than by a giant spider, but Mo was feeling exhausted. Already. His legs were wobbling rather violently, and he had to stop twice to catch his breath.

Angry quacking from right behind him had Mo moving again, until he could finally slide to a halt right at the edge of the promised ravine. And holy guacamole... this was some impressive Transfiguration work the professor had done. The room was expanded endlessly, it seemed, and this fall looked like it could kill him. The running would kill him first, but the fall COULD kill him too.
