Oh hey, boat!

Ella let out a relieved sigh and wasted no time inspecting her work. She trailed her hands along the sides of the small boat, looking for cracks or holes which she luckily didn't find. The blonde then looked at the bottom in search of any signs of trouble. Ultimately, her boat seemed smooth and solid, something that wouldn't leave her stuck in the muck. This was definitely something to smile about and she let the corners of her lips tug upward slightly, knowing she was that much closer to finishing this task. The only thing left was to get herself across the swamp in this thing but that was going to be hard. She knew it would and especially given how tired she was. If there was a transfiguration spell to make a motor for her boat, she didn't know it. So she left the boat for a moment and searched for a long enough stick so she could paddle herself across.

Stick in hand, the Head Girl returned to the boat and raised her eyebrows slightly. She was ready to go now but how was she meant to get into the boat once it was in the water? Maybe she could...no. But what if she....no. This was probably going to be harder than she thought.

Eventually she moved the boat into the shallow water and held it there with one hand while she kept the other wrapped around the long stick that she'd pushed into the ground. This would be her anchor, yeah? She'd just sort of push off the stick and hoist herself into the boat in one fluid motion or something. Hey, yeah! That could work! And taking a deep breath, that's exactly what Ella tried to do. TRIED.

The small badger got one leg into the boat when she realized she hadn't thought this plan through. As she moved that leg into the boat, the boat moved a bit further away from the shore and now she was streeeeetched, one arm and leg still outside the boat. She let out a little squeak and sort of threw all her weight towards the boat, pulling the stick out of the ground in the process and landing in a tangled mess at the bottom of the boat. She groaned and rubbed her side but at least she'd got inside. That was something to be proud about...y'know later, when she wasn't feeling so sore.

When she'd finally managed to get into a seated position, Ella once again focused on the task at hand. She was going to get across this water and to the other side right now. YUP. And so she used the long stick to paddle as best she could, beginning her slow journey across the water.

This...wasn't going to be a quick trip. Just saying.
