So now that Sophie had at least given her Puffskein the heads up as to what was going on, she could now cast. She thought the creature may be more willing to not freak out and roll away beforehand if she at least tried to meet him halfway. Him. When had her Puffskein gotten a gender anyway?

Sophie raised her wand and flicked it toward the Puffskein. "Animalis Fidelis!" she called out. After the casting, she waited a moment to see what the Puffskein would do. She had her wand out and at the ready in case the casting somehow didn't work. It apparently did, though, because You was just sitting there ready for her directions.

"Okay, You, follow me," she said. "We're supposed to be having a race, but it's okay if we don't win. I know, I know. That's crazy coming from me, right? I can at least not hurry you along in your eating, though, if I'm going to standing here and controlling you." She began walking the line of bushes, and You began rolling after her, following her every command.
