She wondered if this had anything at all to do with the escape of the Time Thief, but January didn't have to heart to bring that up with Vic.

She laughed lightly along with Vic. That didn't surprise her. Those MLEers were interesting. And aggressive. She took another sip of her water and tried not to spit it out when he almost choked on his food and called her a 'drama queen sympathizer'. "Oi, don't drag me into this. This is all you," she said with a half-grin, waving her hand in his general direction.

A search party? Her eyebrow raised slightly. "Um... No. Well, yes. Sort of." That wasn't very helpful. January set her water bottle down. "I'll be up in Bedford... helping move my dad into an assisted living facility." She nodded twice and looked at her hands. It was a hard thing to face, but she didn't have the means or the time to take care of her dad and neither did her sister. She worked too much and he needed someone with him more and more as the days went by. "I've already arranged it with my department head and all that." Just in case he was worried about that part.
It did make it scarier. He offered January a reassuring smile, though, and dang this space between them, he went ahead and draped an arm on the bench behind her. "Nothing's scary, we have a fantastic security and investigating teams." Y'know... except for the suspicious head of the security.

"Stings, doesn't it?" He smirked, being called drama queen was amusing actually, it doesn't really "sting". He was going to tell Lucie how funny January was.

Vic dropped the humor and the smirk when the issue seemed to be of great importance. He leaned forward on his thighs and nodded his head a bit solemnly at January. "Yes. That's understandable." He didn't know the details of her father's condition, but he was sure it took too much time trying to provide him with the best health care his daughters wished to offer. He didn't pay attention to her work arrangements, that wasn't what concerned him now. "How are you holding up?" She was a strong woman, she held herself perfectly well on the outside, but would she be able to open up about what she was really feeling? Vic was a perfect listener.
