At least they were finally getting somewhere. Bennett was being a good egg and removing himself from the tense situation, doing his thing, Carter had eased up... and was being cooperative. Also a good thing -- though the look on his face at her reprimand hadn't gone unnoticed. Merlin. It was like looking int he face of a child. He looked like he needed a hug. ... yet another cause for concern on her part.
She'd been in the process of leaving the holding area to tend to other - related - matters, when Jorge went on about the means with which he was taken. Huh. Funny that. "It's new, temporary protocol," she interjected, simply informing him of the matter. "See, while we're inconvenienced with transportation to our current premises, individuals must be properly subdued before being portkeyed." Therefore, unlucky for him. "In case you haven't noticed, we're operating under a pseudo state of emergency." They needed their building back. Did he not know? This was merely the most effective way in which they could adapt. "And we're familiar with evading muggles, thank you for your concern."
At any rate, she was done with the philosophical debating and whatnot... it was now a matter of wait and see who comes to collect him. Though she couldn't understand why anyone would bother. The man was terrible company and was essentially asking to be punched in the face each time he opened his mouth. His looks were wasted on him, not that they were all that great to begin with. Not her type. She had a type. It was a very specific type.
"If you'll excuse me, I'll attend to your arrangements..." she gave Carter a look to communicate he ought to continue his line of questioning. Take down every single detail the man offered, then leave him to the rats. Words weren't necessary in this instance as expectations were clear - follow the books, so without further ado, Emily turned on her heal and headed back up the tunnel from which she'd come, she could feel her pocket notebook burning.
