"Alright."
Seeing as she was most likely being legit about this exploding thing, he figured he would actually have to bring this to the Minister, if only to get him on the same page. "Of course not." There was a hint of something in his voice as he played along. "Exploding's perfect. There aren't any subtler ways of getting back inside." And a somewhat pointed look. See the point? Exploding could still be an option, it just didn't have to be the one they drew on within an hour.
It was his turn to try his hand at looking offended, a bit of dramatics he'd perfected. "Me? Up to something? I would never." A mask that could easily be seen through. It was only natural to think he was up to something. One did not simply walk into the Office of Gavin Isaacs and take a tone with him. Being the mature adult he was, he was probably expected to drop this and he would...when he was done. "I'm bigger than that, see?" He said, reaching across for the wand he'd just put down a minute ago then swishing it in a circular motion above his head, creating a halo that faded only seconds later. Hard to ignore the halo this time and it was good to see she didn't have any concerns where this was concerned. He would take the brow wiggling as encouragement; not that he needed any. Gavin's face fell some in contemplation. There was security, not actually a problem with what he was planning on but a nuisance nonetheless when you considered who it was. "Uh-huh....." He took a large sip of his coffee followed quickly by a moment of silence. In actuality, it might have worked out better for him. Ashby wouldn't be patrolling his own halls if he had someone in MLE doing it for him and he didn't think that while patrolling Bennett would try questioning him.
That was just as he'd thought. "This is movies and junk food we're talking about, I'd be surprized if he didn't." Zeke was a smart kid, he would know where there was more opportunity for fun and in this case it was with the girls and Ari. They'd get up to all kinds of things that he wouldn't question and quite possibly regret it in the morning but what else could you expect? "There'd be no reason to insist on coming with us. Date nights mean I have you and I'm afraid I've never been taught the art of sharing. Don't think he'd be keen on being made a third wheel." And he would, whether through the natural course of the evening or deliberate actions on the part of a certain Senior Undersecretary who wasn't above excluding children.
Gavin began leaning closer the moment she did, figuring they were about to share some form secret and was he ever disappointed but only just a little. She was right in thinking he'd appreciate the surprize, he liked that she could keep him guessing even with all his years of people watching and being able to read into certain things. "I can appreciate surprizes..." He paused to add a smirk, "so long as they're worth my while." A challenge he knew she would have no problem with. Not even so much as a protest, no further questions, no looks, nothing. He was proving himself to be a wonderful boyfriend, even if he had developed that nasty habit of restricting her sugar. She'd let him have that one. The fact that she hadn't even let herself indulge in the sweet pastries for thier break was evidence enough that she was making an effort to comply.
And there he went with subtlety. Emily rolled her eyes playfully, humouring him in the act. "Mmhhmm, because subtle has worked out so well so far." Subtlety required more time, more planning, more effort in execution and frankly she didn't have the patience for it. Blowing out a wall would be far more efficient and timely. Yep. She was convinced of this, it was a shame he wasn't. Still, she didn't want to dwell on it. If they wanted her services, she'd gladly give them, but so long as they actively sought to rectify the issue, she could withhold her complaints. If only for Gavin's sake.
She had long grown accustomed to his dramatics, but they still didn't cease to amuse her, a smirk played at her lips. If anything his dramatics consolidated the fact that he was indeed up to something, and a small part of her wanted in. With his involvement, whatever the plan was, would be more or less sanctioned, this was part of the appeal. Emily grinned, she knew full well he was bigger than that, he had the big ego to boot. Making a show of having a halo was perhaps the icing on the proverbial cake. "It suits you, the halo," she decided, despite it not really suiting him at all. It was one of those things. His uh-huh at the security bit did little to ease her curiosity, and she found herself wondering what was going through his head. It was clear he was thinking of something... "I trust you don't have an issue with this?" she questioned, fishing for a resposne.
Movies and junk food... yeaaahh.. still, the boy had his moments, his actions had the ability to surprise her and leave her questioning what was wrong with him. But this was sounding promising and he wouldn't have a say in the matter regardless, because there was no way she was willing to share her time with him on that night, not when she had such delightful plans in mind. "I daresay he'd very much hate being a third wheel to what I have in mind, and I don't much care for dividing my attention between the two of you. I'm not one for sharing our time with others..." because he was still the exception. "And when has a date with me not been worth your while?" Cue brow raise, answer carefully Isaacs. But really, he was being ridiculous in asking such a question. Of course it'd be worth his while, in every way that it would be worth hers.
