She loved working with Mariel and missed it terribly. Not that she wasn’t working with her still, but working for her was very much different than just working with her and the new girl really hadn’t spoken all that much, so she couldn’t have an opinion yet, no it was more Charely and the fear of an awkward run in with the man. “Though I’m not sure Mariel would enjoy me taking work to my place of residence right now.” Not that she was unorganized, but the leaky wasn’t a place to do work. She chuckled a bit as he mentioned Emily, “She is quiet the worker isn’t she? I’m glad you are getting her to relax some, she truly needs it.” Always worried Victoria was of Emily, because she was one to focus more on work than anything else.
She shook her head, she hadn’t seen any place but her own or well unless you count the training and then she had been there as well. “Nope just the hanger. I don’t really have a reason to go to the other places. So just the hanger and home usually.” That had been in life so far, not really reason to go and visit people she really didn’t know. Maybe she should though open the door to meet knew ministry employees. She might give it some thought, but the awkward of just walking into the buildings was enough to leave her out of that sort of thing. “It’d be nice to have decent coffee at the hanger, but Mariel and I have brought some to try and make it better.” Whether anyone appreciated it she wasn’t so sure. She couldn’t help but chuckle, “Gavin getting into trouble with department heads, hmm that is very interesting.” She wished she could have been a bug on the wall to see that. He wasn’t one that struck her as a problem employee so to have another department head upset with him she found that amusing.
So Emily found him, good for her. Gavin was a good guy and good guys were hard to find at times, so she was glad Emily found him. Now if they could just keep each other and stay happy that was the harder part of relationships. The part she was horrid at it seemed. “Ice?” That was an odd thing to have said, unless they went somewhere colder that had ice. Her mind had went to possibly getting hurt a lot which sent her mind other places, but she wouldn’t be asking for details. None of her business. Her smile at his kind words faltered and she looked away, “Don’t worry about me Gavin I’ll be fine.” She wasn’t going to use the word happy, because she wasn’t at the moment and she wasn’t sure when she would be again, but fine she knew she would be. Taking work home was better than what she had to deal with........forgive him but he was finding it hard to see how and was starting to get the idea he was missing something. Add the fact that Vic was a woman and it became almost definite that he was missing something. He could have poked around for answers but didn't for fear of new tears forming that he was no more adept at handling than the first set that disappeared before really getting far. "Think I'm liking Mariel more already." He said with an approving nod, but it was to be expected, he approved of anyone that got in the way of people trying to work too hard. Vic classifying Emily as 'quite the worker' would have been taken as an understatement a few months ago but he would admit she was making improvement. "Think I'm finally rubbing off on her. She doesn't fully believe it's a good thing but I'll have to work on that too. You'd be surprized at how relaxed she can get." He might have been surprized too if he didn't already expect it as part of the vacation conditions.
There was that other little hitch, the fact that she didn't actually have reason to be Department hopping and he wouldn't condone it either if it'd get in the way of productivity--something that was already being hindered by this whole lockout but lunch breaks were fine. "Life gets dull when you limit yourself to two places." He commented lightly, not by any means judging, just planting little seeds that would later blossom into the idea that she needed to get out more and to other places. Gavin wasn't going to pry but he could leave subtle hints just the same. Oh? Coffee? He didn't get that anymore, not unless it was morning coffee with Emily. The building wasn't safe, brewing coffee in there was like asking for a stomach infection. "Could check with Aron, ask him how he manages the good coffee." As a helpful suggestion befire shrugging at her teasing, a smile turning up the corner of his lips. "It was nothing grand, quite overplayed if you ask me. I'm discovering more and more that not everyone shares my sense of humour." Did it bother him? ......No. Should it?
Curious about the ice comment. It was expected, this was Vic afterall. [b]"Ice."[/i] He said with a firm nod and an amused expression at the memory. There was definitely a new appreciation for the stuff. "We stopped by a Christmas Market over in Paris, went ice-skating and I won." Okay....that might have been a somewhat distorted version but the basics were there. He DID take her ice-skating, they'd made a wager and he WON. Nevermind he'd technically cheated, Emily didn't mind and he got what he wanted. Double win. It was hard to not be concerned about her though. Not after knowing her while she was up and about and happy looking. He fixed his eyes on her for a moment, knowing fully well women hardly meant it when they said they were fine. "If there's anything you need help with, you can ask. Might not end up being of any real help but I can try." And in the end that was all anyone could really do, right?
