He'd changed that step too, yep.

Any objections?

"That quite went wrong," he murmured to himself as if he hadn't foreseen it, but it was clear by now that all had been a performance: he had changed the steps on purpose. He paused and made eye contact with a few students to make sure he had everyone's attention. "You have 3 hours and a half to fix it and leave a sample of a correctly brewed Forgetfulness Potion on my desk. You may go to the library if you are sure your cauldron won't explode. You may work in pairs, but no more than two people working together, please. Older students may help first years, though I don't think we have any." Did they? He doubted it.

With that, he grinned and walked towards the door, ignoring any and all the questions they may have. He halted dramatically before exiting the class, turned to them and said "Good luck."

Ah, if only wizards had theatres!

OOC notes
1. As there is no JKR-canon way to fix a potion, be creative and make something up! Two examples my humble brain could think of (I am not saying I'll grade based on these examples, because there is no definite 'correct' way) are:
For stirring, you may turn the stirrer upside down and stir the other way.
For extra Valerian roots, you may add Jobberknoll feathers.
2. Explain in your posts why your character went with that way to fix the step, and please refrain from adding OOC comments while explaining.
3. You may work in pairs. You don't have to RP in the library.
4. Fix only one step per post, please, to let me post the potion's reaction and say whether it's worked or made everything worse (I'll be posting that, yes. ) Once everything is fixed, you can make big posts for the rest of the potion.
5. Cosgrach has left the classroom, but I am still here, so please refrain from chatter.

So that's how I'll grade: creativity and potions common sense. To get full credit, you have to post at least 5 times: 3 to undo the damage and 2 to complete the potion. There is no maximum limit.

You have until Tuesday 19.00 GMT/14.00 EST to complete it.

SPOILER!!: Addi's Potions Journal
Forgetfulness Potion
1. Add 2 drops of Lethe River Water to your cauldron
2. Gently heat for 20 seconds
3. Add 4 Valerian sprigs to your cauldron
4. Stir 3 times, clockwise AND 3 times counterclockwise
5. Wave your wand
6. Leave to brew and return in 45-60 minutes
7. Add 2 measures of Standard Ingredient to the mortar
8. Add 4 mistletoe berries to the mortar
9. Crush into a medium-fine powder using the pestle
10. Add 2 pinches of the crushed mixture to your cauldron
11. Stir 5 times, anti-clockwise
12. Wave your wand to complete the potion

Adelaide looked down at her potion which had turned red all of a sudden. And was smoking. She was going to ask Culloden about it, but he didn't seem phased in the least. Sigh. She did as she was told and waved her wand five times in a clockwise motion.

...and then the smoking got worse. Quite wrong?! Of course it was quite wrong! Everyone's cauldrons were smoking. So at least it wasn't just her who had messed up. But okay. So there final was to fix it. And with partners. She was going to ask questions of Culloden but he was gone.

KNEW IT. Theo totally called this when Cosgrach was changing all of those steps. He should've just trusted his own judgement and followed the regular rules, HMPTH.

The Slytherin raised his hand to ask a grumpy question, but oh...? Professor Cosgrach had vanished. Well, HE was certainly brave for leaving a class full of students alone with POTION MAKING. Theo had a mental list of everything that could go wrong in his absence. Explosions. Fires. DEATH. But that's cool, Cosgrach, you go put your feet up. He scowled at his black potion then looked over his notes that were written in his usual messy handwriting. Of course, they made zero sense to him and he had absolutely no idea how to fix this mess that the professor had gotten them into. So he looked over at Adelaide, who had unfortunately chosen to sit by him today of all days. "Hey, wanna partner up for this?" He used his puppy eyes.

Hadn't used puppy eyes in a LOOOOOONG time.
Great. The one class she'd been struggling with most of the term. She didn't even really know how to go about fixing potions. Addi glared at her notes a bit when she felt eyes on her. She turned to look at Theo. Who had the most adorable look on his face

"Sure. But before you completely agree, I should warn you I'm kind of rubbish at this..." This being potions. Which she had still never quite grasped how that was possible.
