Except that Alice wasn't giving her a chance to say no anymore, and she frowned dismally when she was tugged forward, trying her best not to look wounded by her best's previous lack of interest in dancing before for the sake of her public appearance.
The live stuff helped. Dora rested her head on Alice's shoulder even though it wasn't a slow song to avoid fingers in her face, and unknowling started to sway a bit herself. Half-hearted swaying since it took a lot to look cavalier, unlike how she really felt.
It was so hard to do this. Alice would always try cheer her best up, but she didn't
like dancing. Most definitely wasn't something she wanted to do, and it was always hard to hide stuff from Dora. But she wanted to at that current moment if it'd make her best perk up a bit, of course.
"Please? Dance with me. You're being the killjoy now." She gave Dora another nudge and stroked her hair for a little while before pushing the other girl into a more upright position.
"I'll give you two dances, even."
