Leah walked nervously into the hall. It had changed a great deal. Leah had a silent debate in her head whether to go dancing or eating first. Since it would seem weird if she danced or ate alone, she decided to sit down and chat with someone first.
There were only a few people, all of whom Leah did not recognize. She chose a seat next to a girl she knew was in her year. "Hi, it's Hope, isn't it? I'm Leah." The girl looked like she came alone too. "Do you mind if I sit with you? Only I didn't bring any dates." Please say yes! Leah did not want to spend the rest of Valentine's Day on her own.
Hope smiled up at the girl.
"Yeah. Sure." She shrugged and looked around.
"I didn't bring any either so don't feel bad." Not that she would have. She still wasn't sure how she felt about the concept of dating. It sounded fun in theory, but she saw a lot of people who had to deal with a mess of emotions.
"So, how awesome is this? Do you think there will be one every year we're here?"
