Now, she was eleven and he views had shifted slightly. If she had a date for the dance, she may be all for some of the coupley things, but that being said she was alone. So, she decided to not take a side and just take a seat for the time being. After all, she couldn't be the only person here alone. She was bound to have some friends that would come keep her company for the duration of the event. There was a BALL. Why didn't someone tell Leah earlier? Leah had only heard about the Half-Hearted Ball a week before the very day and had to hurry to prepare. She wanted to look beautiful on Valentine's. Not that she had a boyfriend. (She hoped to make one though.)
Leah walked nervously into the hall. It had changed a great deal. Leah had a silent debate in her head whether to go dancing or eating first. Since it would seem weird if she danced or ate alone, she decided to sit down and chat with someone first.
There were only a few people, all of whom Leah did not recognize. She chose a seat next to a girl she knew was in her year. "Hi, it's Hope, isn't it? I'm Leah." The girl looked like she came alone too. "Do you mind if I sit with you? Only I didn't bring any dates." Please say yes! Leah did not want to spend the rest of Valentine's Day on her own. |
