And organizing. That's what Ella was going to do first now that she'd returned to where her planet and sun where. She slowly began grouping stones with petals or branches strategically, trying to pair the colors according to what Ella thought looked best. She paused her work only when the younger badger spoke up and she glanced at him, a small smile playing on her lips. "I'm not sure yet? I'll have to do some brainstorming while I'm working on them. But yeah, they definitely deserve names." They were special and unique so why not, yeah?
The eighteen year old eyed her stones again curiously before selecting a reddish-brown one coupled with a piece bark. She cleaned her mortar and pestle before adding the ingredients in there. She then cleaned her spoon and measured out the two scoops of Iron. Now it was crushing time. Oh and goggles, she slid her goggles on. She didn't need anything else happening to her eyes, y'know?
Crush...Crush...Crush....
"What about you, think of any names yet?"
Crush...Crush...Crush...
The stone was pretty hard to crush which didn't bode well for Ella's sore hands. She had to stop several time to clench and un-clench her fist, hoping to ease the pain. Eventually she was able to break it down and luckily the bark broke apart fairly easily, making things a bit more bearable. Now to perform the spell.
Where...was her wand again? Ella frowned slightly and looked around, confused about what might have happened to it. It took a minute or two for her to realize it was sitting just to her right. Had she...mistaken it for a stick? Merlin! She really was losing it!
The Head Girl picked it up lovingly and then concentrated her energy on doing the spell correctly. She could do this, had done it several times before. Deep breath and, "Fingere Elementi!"
Tobias was watching Ella out of the corner of his eye even as he watched the progress of his own work. He was noting particularly how she seemed to have trouble crushing the stuff for too long, and he could totally relate to that. It was all he could do not to keep stopping; but Toby preferred not to let on that he was in any kind of pain, or having difficulty. He did find himself semi-anxiously biting his lip though.
"I'm still thinking up names," the Hufflepuff replied, leaning in a little closer to the mortar so he could squint at the contents and ensure that it was properly crushed. Hm... a little more couldn't hurt.
"I wanted to give them all people names, or maybe I'll give them Greek god names, like the way our planets have Roman god names," he added, as he used the pestle to grind the substances down a little more.
That was pretty good. Tobias reached for his wand and pointed it at the powdered elements in the mortar, and took a breath, ready to cast the spell...
...
... and he couldn't, for the life of him, remember what the spell was.
"Uh..." Toby said, blinking stupidly as he searched his memory for what on earth he had been about to do. He knew the outcome of the spell, knew he was making a planet... but what was the spell?
He was about to rifle back through his notes when he heard Ella performing the spell next to him. Yes, yes of COURSE. How could he have forgotten that?
"Fingere Elementi!" Tobias cast, wand still pointed at the powder inside the mortar. He watched as they all morphed and created a pretty little planet with a nice pink tone to it. Tobias smiled to himself, before opening his box and dropping the planet inside. He shut the lid again and watched as this new planet tried to find its own orbit. It was at this point that he noticed that his first planet from class, a slightly larger one, had established a pretty good orbit since the end of last lesson.
"I reckon I'll do four more," the badger said, partly to himself but also partly for Ella's benefit too. He grinned up at her.
