I'm dreaming with my eyes wide open

Andrew raised a finger to his face and pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose as he listened to the explanations of his two new acquaintances. What was with the 'Lady & Squire' business? Andrew's confusion would have been visible, had it not been for his preoccupation with the girl's question about his book. It was rare that anyone took an interest in his books, and even now it was hard to tell if her interest was genuine or feigned. She did seem like a nice, intelligent person, but she also seemed a little uncomfortable. Andrew simply assumed it was the cold.

"This old thing?" he pulled the old tome from under his arm and opened it, turning to the page he had been reading before dropping it. "It's just something I found in the library. It's about Spell-runes and Vellums." He explained with audible interest and fascination. The page he held open for Lux and Louis to see depicted a complex symbol encased in a circle covered in smaller symbols. "With the proper technique, a Witch or Wizard can inscribe a rune like this one.." He began to explain, pointing at the rune depicted in the book. "Onto a surface of any kind, cast and store a spell in it for later use! What is so special about them is that because the spell has technically already been cast, they will function even if the caster perishes. Even Muggles can use them!"

The Ravenclaw's enthusiasm for the concept was practically visible on him as he explained, but he quickly realized he must have been boring his new friends half to death, and took a step back. The visible breath of the two people in front of him reminded him of just how cold it really was, which made Lux's comment about the weather all the more confusing.

"Erm.. Sure, yeah. Nice weather."
