Nothing to worry about? "If you say so." She'd just have to take his word for it and she was pretty good at doing that.
She was worrying. Totally was. Per usual, yeah? She just couldn't help it. Especially if this dumb old age epidemic was making her all weird and forgetful. Who would want to be around her if it got worse? She'd be all alone and deaf and talking to herself and then she'd die alone. Yup. And so when Alec said it was nothing to worry about, the eighteen year old nodded and said quietly, "I really hope so." And that was the last she'd say about it, yeah? They had nicer things to talk about. Things like him agreeing with her which caused her to grin like an idiot. "You're sweet, y'know." She was going to keep him. He also seemed hungry which was good because she was too. Time to eat, then? "I hope so too. Do you want to order now, then?" And oh gosh, he saw the sugar? So much for being stealth. "They want you to take it," She insisted, sliding the packets into her bag. "Why else would they buy in bulk?"
The healer, Summers? Just no. Ella made a face and shook her head. "It's probably nothing, remember?" Hadn't he said that before. "Besides, if I need to go, so do you." And he didn't want to do that, did he?
"I think, yeah. Maybe you should meet up with him, then? Try and see what he's really like so you'll know if he's good for her and stuff?" Could she come too? She was a super investigator so it totally made sense for her to interrogate him too. Just saying. He was right? Did this mean that she was feeling better about things being different now or... was she just... feeling too lazy to argue with him on this? The boy hoped it was the first one. The second one would be a sign of unresolved issues, right? Then it could come up later and... ... Alec shook his head before smiling over at-- Oh! Hand squeezes. Those were nice. "I'm... glad you think so," he said, giving her hand a small squeeze in return. They could talk about something else, yeah? Even... if talking about the ageing thing wasn't a great topic. It was a start. "I think... the Professors have noticed what's going on, yeah. Or some have. I mean... students getting grey hairs and wrinkles isn't hard to notice, right?" But the Healer? "Has she been around?"
Alec did say so, yeah. He grinned some more at her and nodded. He liked staring at her face. Keep it uncovered, yeah girlfriend?
She hoped so? Alec nodded in return but didn't say anything. There really wasn't much to say, yeah? He was still confused about what she had meant but... he was forgetting about that already. What he wasn't going to forget anytime soon -- fingers crossed -- was the way the Head Girl was smiling. She had a nice smile, did she know? "I'm just... honest," Really, it was the truth. ... And... he should stop staring at her smile, yeah? "Yeah, I'm hungry. You want me to call her over?" You know, since the girl was busy stowing away some packets of sugar in her bag. He glanced over at her, and then at the packets of sugar and then... burst out laughing. "What are you going to do with so much sugar, Ells?"
Was she using his words against him? Had he said that? ... He... didn't know. "I... hope it's not." And she had a point about him needing to see the Healer too. "Clever. But... I'd... rather make sure that you're okay."
Alec's eyes widened as he looked over at the other couple and then back at Ells. "That's a brilliant idea! I could... I could ask him everything I need to know. Like what his intentions are and... and if he's going to play with her heart." The last one was a BIG NO. That was not allowed to happen to Candy, okay?
