Nodding politely at the fifth year she walked alongside her, ready to catch her if need be. "Take your time. No rush." She didn't have anyplace to be and Ana would be excused from her next lesson given her physical well-being.
"Hold onto the side-rail." She said, as they reached the first moving stairwell.
She may not need to rush but she was of the opinion that if she didn't move fast enough she'd end up crying in public. Something that would be extremely embarrassing, and that she wanted to avoid at all costs.
"Okay," Ana replied but she still walked as fast as her body would allow, which was admittedly slower than normal. While she didn't want to end up crying in public Ana also didn't want to end up hurting herself worse.
When they reached the stairs Ana hesitated slightly, staring at them slightly dubiously. Could she really climb these, and would they stay in one place long enough for them to get where they needed to go? Slytherin pride demanded that Ana at least attempt to walk up the stairs without being helped and so she'd try. Taking a deep breath Ana tried convincing herself that the stairs were not her enemy. It didn't work. The only thing that happened was that her chest hurt even worse and her face contorted with pain for a few seconds before she masked it.
Note to self, remember not to take too deep a breath.
Placing her hand on the bannister like Hadley suggested Ana began her slow ascent up the stairs.
