She confirmed with a solemn nod. Don't tell her his hearing was going now. She wasn't into repeating unnecessarily.
The smiles and smirks didn't go unnoticed. No, Lex was just good at keeping a straight face and snuggling her kneazle. Nothing to react to, she could keep a calm head on her shoulder and wait for the go ahead. Which came in the very next minute anyway.
It was a yes and she had Tuesdays off.....hmmmmmm...that was potentially bothersome. She supposed she would have to make up some excuse for going down there on a Tuesday anyway. Normal people asked to get stuff from restricted sections. Alexa offered to clean to get better access. Oh yes, most definitely. "That will work perfectly Professor. I'll do my best," at waving her wand a few times and calling it clean before she went snooping, "getting the place in tip top shape for you. It's the least I can do after what my kneazle did to you."
And now she owed her baby treats. Definitely. Alone in the potions labs for a few hours every evening? This couldn't have gone better if she planned it! Do her best? Oh, she had to, because he had the power. He might be 40 years old, but he didn't forget that easily. And he certainly wouldn't forget that cat. Kneazle. Thing. Beast. Its paws clutching onto his robe. It probably damaged his precious robe, considering he had pretty much failed to dislodge it from his back.
Did 'reparo' work for robes? He had to ask it to Fuller. "Exactly," he said, content indeed that she understood. Her kneazle's demeanour was unacceptable, to put it mildly. "See you tomorrow then, Miss Cambridge." It was obvious he was pleased, though, despite the smirk he kept on his handsome face. He then tried to lift his foot that he had tapped up to walk.
...it didn't come free.
His face fell slightly, but he refused to look down, and pulled it again. It was no use. The soil must have got solid while they conversed, and it didn't look like it would give way easily. He looked down, the soil had indeed solidified, and PULLED his foot once more. He managed to get it free, but he had been so focused on trying to free it that he had put too much force this time, and he lost his balance. His scream was stuck in his throat, so he looked like he was being suffocated, and flailed his arms desperately not to fall. He looked like he could save the fall for a moment, but in the next, he had disgracefully landed on his butt, and only milliseconds later, on his back. "OW!"
The cold had made the non-muddy soil turn into a ROCK, and he could tell the exact spots that made contact with it. "You tell anyone, anything, and your kneazle will take its place among my ingredients."
He was still fully lying on the ground, with a painful face, but his voice lost nothing of its hissing ability, and he meant the threat. |
