He walked back to her boat and lightly put one foot onto the edge of it. Ok. So far so good. "Here, hold this for me, will you? So I don't fall...and then I'll paddle over to my boat and hold it for you while you hop on," he said. That way, no one fell in the water by SLIPPING rather than, you know, a faulty boat, which was the only reason they should fall in Caleb's opinion.
Okay, so the plan was in action now apparently. Caleb was also on a roll, which momentarily left Sophie scrambling to catch up. She watched as he stepped into her boat and attached a rope to a nearby tree.
"Yup, got it," she said, taking a hold of the paddle.
It only now occurred to her that her brother may not have done the spell correctly. HER boat she was sure of. What if he'd messed up, though? She frowned as she realized that she should have suggested this the other way around. Her in HER boat and Caleb in HIS boat.
Oh, well. Too late now.
"Ready when you are," she said.
