Once he had one of the creepy doll effigy whatevers tucked under one arm, Tobias found a place at a fire, which had just been vacated by a student who'd finished trying out the spell. He still kept his distance, because fire was hot, and he could feel the extra warmth blasting his face and clothes and making his back feel very cold by comparison.

Okay, spell.

Tobias raised his wand so it was pointing skywards (which was a weird wand holding position okay) and did the tight circular movement and then a FLICK towards the fire, all the while thinking super hard what he wanted to happen. "GlaIncendia!"

.............. The fire didn't look any different. Toby KNEW it wasn't supposed to look different, like he HAD been listening, but for some reason he still expected something to happen.

Still, nothing did, and Toby was eventually forced to throw the effigy into the flames.

Which he did.

And then stood there and watched.

As it turned green and then black.
