Wouldn't be a bad one to use if the flame freezing spell worked, but certainly not a good idea to use on a flaming doll. At least the girl had the sense to drop it immediately.
Tucking the metal stick under one arm, Braith took a few steps over to Miss Jensen and pulled the pot of burn cream from his cloak pocket. "Let's see that hand." He gently lifted her hand into view. Didn't look too bad, but was a bit red and he was sure it hurt. Braith lathered a generous amount of burn paste onto her hand. That should work immediately. "Alright?" he asked, looking at her. "Try again?"
At that, he looked at the rest of the class. "Everyone!" he called out to get their attention. "If your spell does not work and your doll does burn, just leave it in the fire, alright? You can always get another one." There was plenty. Let's try to keep the injuries at bay. And back to roasting that hot dog
Whoa, what was that stuff? It was a million times better than ice! The hurt went away almost instantly.
"Thanks!" she beamed. Magic was basically the coolest thing ever. Try again? That was a little more difficult. She was going to get that pasty stuff on her wand. Why hadn't she caught it with her non-dominant hand? Well, she could wash and polish her wand later.

"GlaIncendia. GlaIncendia. GlaIncendia." Delilah said loudly, repeating it a few times. It was important to pronounce the spell properly, yeah? Before putting it to practice?
.... And she frowned when heard a little girl nearby say that she wanted ice. Was she okay? Did she injure herself? Delilah walked over to Braith and the little girl, the frown deepening on her face. "Uh professor, is she okay?" She asked, watching him dab some paste on her palm.
That was nice of the girl to be concerned. Gwen held up her pasty hand.
"I'm much better. Thanks." Back to the "try again" part. Gwen retrieved a new doll, this one was so charred she wouldn't be able to tell if the spell was working at all.
"GlaIncendia," she tried again. She had learned that half of magic was intent, so this time she really poured her intention to make the flames not burn into the words. Because after that burn, she really didn't want the flames to be hot anymore. Circular motion and flick.
"Your turn," she muttered to the doll-thing tossing it into the flames.
