Dancing Through Life
Was she really the only one sitting? No, there was that girl who was sitting close to her, looking like she wanted to use Gwen as a shield for something. Thank goodness the professor told them all to sit down. Being the only one would be a little awkward.
Oh, the first teacher to acknowledge all of the old people! Gwen had a theory about that. She'd read in the Prophet that some dude who stole time had escaped from prison. She didn't know anything at all about stealing time, but it sure looked like that's what was going on here. Or maybe it was all a practical joke, because mostly it seemed like Gryffindors. Well, Gryffindor was the house making the biggest deal out of it. So she was willing to bet they had all done it as a prank of sorts.
She shifted uncomfortably, feeling like the class was a bit in trouble. If they were in trouble she had three choices. First, she could pretend to be in on the joke and get in trouble with the class. Second, she could be the jerk-kid that everyone hated and announce that she had nothing to do with this weird old-people thing, or third she could sit quietly and not make any decisions until it had played out.
Choosing the last option she fiddled a little with her hair avoiding eye contact with anyone, especially the professor.
