The spell was easy enough when had the movement down pat, and Alice's piece of wood shaped itself into a small boat right away. Testing, though? ".... no." Preparation in advance? As if. Winging it was more her style.
She looked at him expectantly. Well? What were they doing? West was still the smart one (for today).
He picked his boat up with both hands, wand held under his chin as he surveyed it. Well it looked water tight? But testing had to happen. And to him it just felt right to have something IN the boat. Like... a passenger or whatever.
And since Alice hadn't brought any would be passenger, that left it up to West to do something.
He put the boat down and dropped his wand into his hand.
"Rabbits." He suggested. Yes? West looked around until he found a couple of rocks of a good enough size for their boats and held them up. Rabbits? Was she okay with that? He passed her one of the rocks and then pointed his wand at the other rock. "Lapifors!"
The rock bulged and then all of a sudden expanded, fur pushing out and then ears and a nose and tail... until there was a bunny sitting in his hand looking quite startled.
He examined it seriously and then popped it in his boat.
Yep. He was ready to test and see if it floated.
