Sophie enjoyed the subject of History of Magic plenty well, but she was suspicious of the new professor for it, as she was about any new professor. All last term she was very careful to judge each one's character - they all had to earn her trust, and it was unusual for any to earn it as quickly as Flamsteed and Culloden had. The fellow at the front of the history classroom seemed to be a pleasant enough face, and the Ravenclaw offered him a smile. Giving him the benefit of the doubt and all.
"Good afternoon, professor," she greeted before surveying the mostly-filled classroom - there was Mo, Alec, Ella, Bart, Cat, Tag, Brynn... and Tobes, who seemed to be kind of glum, from what she could tell. Curious, she hurried to slip into the empty seat near him before anyone else got there, and gave him a questioning, concerned look, but didn't say anything. Was he okay? Was he gonna vom? Or was he mad? Was he going to blow up at someone? She wasn't sure, but Sophie slipped a self-inking quill from her bag and scribbled Sophie Brown on the tag on her desk, flipping it up so the professor could see.
...What was going on with those Gryffindors?
