"Vinea Funiculus...Vinea Funiculus...Vinea Funiculus...Vinea Fun...Fun....Fun...Funiculus," Sander chuckled to himself, in a momentary lapse of concentration, as he strangely found humor in the word to the incantation.
When he realized his mistake, he quickly looked over hoping that Tessa hadn't heard what he had said and that he hadn't disturbed her concentration. For a split moment in time, Sander felt irritated that she didn't think she needed to practice. 'Miss Know All' he thought to himself grumpily. But just as the thoughts entered his mind, it was instantly forgotten and his grumpiness disappeared.
He went back to practicing the incantation. This time with more concentration and determination.
"Vinea Funiculus...Vinea Funiculus....Vinea Funiculus," he practiced over and over again.
"Okay, now I'm ready," Sander told Tessa as he placed the piece of vine on the grass flat in front of him and prepared to cast the spell. Tessa nodded and turned her focus to the vine. What she didn't tell Sander was that she had been practicing her pronunciation since the lesson, knowing that she would want the spell down for the homework and upcoming classes. SHe wanted it to be easy and comfortable for when it was time to cast the spell. Not to mention, Transfiguration was one of her favorite classes and she typically put more effort into it compared to others.
However, she must not have been concentrating enough, because the vine's transformation was only mostly complete. She frowned at the offending vine, and reverted it back to its original form. "Try number 2," she commented, shooting Sander a small smile. She cast the spell, once more repeating the phrase, and the vine quickly turned into nice steady rope. Goodness he's taking forever, she thought grumpily as she heard Sander practicing the spell's pronunciation. Some people do need to concentrate... That thought brought her back to her current situation, forgetting completely about her grumpiness.
"Sander, how should we test this rope?" she asked, lifting the former vine-now rope as she looked at the boy.
