Sander paid attention when the Potions Master started speaking again. He watched the demonstration and then picked up his quill and quickly scribbled down the steps into his journal.

Text Cut: Sander's Journal

Ingredients for Fire Breathing Potion:
1. 3 feathers (chopped WELL that they look like powder)
2. 5 centimetre square of parasites (mycosis fungus)
3. Roughly 2 centimetre square fire-crab shell (prepared)

4. One fire slug
5. 8 drops of salamander blood
6. Some flobberworm mucus (depends on how much rigidity one wants)

Steps to brewing Potion:
1. Clean cauldron.
2. Add water to 1/3 of the cauldron
3. Clean wooden stick, mortar and pestle.
4. Add powdered feather.
5. Use stick and stir clockwise until mixture looks homogenous.big word to mean same consistency
6. Light burner and turn the flame to high.
7. Put on dragon hide gloves.
8. Add culture of mychosis fungus into mortar.
9. Crush with pestle for thirty seconds.
10. Add water while shaking the mortar to allow mixture to mix well.
11. Add to water in cauldron.
12. Stir counter clock-wise for 7 times and turn off the heater.
13. Let it cool until no vapour is seen. Wait 5 minutes.
14. Take the fire crab shell but do not add it!
15. Place it on metal spoon and lower it nicely into the potion just inside the surface.
16. Caution DO NOT SPLASH!!
17. Stir 1 time clockwise, 1 time counter clockwise for 12 times in total.
18. Each stir should take about ten seconds for it to spread thoroughly.
19. Once done with stirring, take out shell and place it on tissues.

20. Wait for one minute.
21. While waiting cut the slug vertically into two.
22. Add the pieces.
23. Stay away from the cauldron as far as you can.
24. If you’ve done everything correctly, the surface should explode harmlessly and start burning.
25. Put out flame with your breath ONLY, so you’d better hurry before the fire spreads to the whole surface.

Now for the delicate task of putting the slug into the cauldron without setting fire to the entire Potions classroom. He allowed the potion to sit for one minute and while he waited he quickly cleaned his knife with the Scouring Charm before cutting the slug vertically into two equal pieces.

His minute was up!! Sander picked up the pieces and dropped it into the cauldron and then quickly stepped as far away from his cauldron as he could.

"Fire in the hole," he called out a warning to the rest of his fellow classmates, and then he waited.

"WHOOOOOOSSSSHHHHH, BOOOM" was all he heard, and then his potion was on fire. Sander rushed back to his cauldron and began blowing out the flames with his breath.

"Blow....blow....breathe....blow....blow....blow... .breathe....blow...blow..." Sander kept blowing at the flames and was glad to see that it was working. Soon the flames died down.

"Wow now that was an amazing piece of special effects." Sander thought to himself as he picked up his quill and updated his journal.
