"I'm afraid that might be frowned upon in some sense of it. Some will argue it's unethical to remove someone's dreams from the fountain they hoped with it in." Or some abraxan dung along those lines. Gavin himself had never been able to understand. Did they expect something to happen when they tossed the coin? They were wizards for Merlin's sake, they had their own magic. What more did they expect a fountain to do?
And it didn't seem he'd gotten very far. Just the statue. "At the risk of receiving a formal complaint I'd suggest you take a walk around Level 9. You won't get very far but it's intriguing nonetheless." His old level. If he ever found the time he would stop by, check the Everlocked Room.
Hmm? The food? "I wouldn't know. I always come up with another reason to avoid eating there." Which he completely blamed Emily for. Just had to go remind him of all the buffet food touching. "I've spoken with someone's who's tried it. He insists it's decent." So...couldn't be that bad. Joćo was pleased for getting the phrase correct. He hadn't made many mistakes of English here and it was encouraging.
He shared the sigh and glance at the fountain. He had completely different ideas about these 'wishes' and he let it show on his face, but he merely said "I guess so." Wishing was stupid, unless they took an action to realise the wish themselves.
He was curious about the suggestion of Mr. Isaacs, and nodded in the end. "Department of Mysteries, right? I'll make sure to take a more thorough look there." Mysteries did peak his curiosity. He wanted to see it now. Maybe Aspen would accompany him. Or maybe he should go there alone.
Avoid? Any particular reason? Joćo wanted to ask, but pressing him more would be rude of him. Instead, he nodded politely. 'Decent' wasn't 'good' or 'marvellous', so he was sure he wouldn't be impressed with the food at all. "I should check it myself too," he muttered to himself, then looked at Mr. Isaacs again. "How long have you been working here, sir?" he asked, hoping he wasn't wasting his time. |
