Roller skate or roller blade? She paused with a hand on each type of shoe... what would happen if she tried both? One on each foot! She grabbed a mixed matched pair and bounded over to a bench. Alright.
The second year bent over and undid her own gray converse before tugging a roller skate on her left foot first. Better to have the more stable show on first. Fumbling with the laces of the roller blade on her right, she finally managed a sloppy bow, not much caring how messy it was so long as it was on tightly. More support. With a wibble and a wobble she carefully stood, clutching the bench for extra, much needed balance.
Stepping carefully into the rink, Tora tried out her stance without any wall support. Finding she could stand on mismatched skates/blades, she tried pushing off all by herself and.... "Whhhooooaaaahahhhhh!" one foot went right, the other went forward making for a very uncomfortable half split which Tora barely caught herself. Huffing and puffing she worked her feet back up to her hands and carefully stood up. That's better! Alright. Now to continue this experiment!
This time she held onto the wall as she practiced moving with two different skates/blades. It was a different balance, different movement for each foot and it required quite a bit of concentration she didn't really have. Still, she soon made it off the wall (sort of) and was tentatively trying to get herself about the rink. It was half working... In all honesty, Alec was a little hesitant about this. He wasn't exactly... great at this. Balancing on a broom was a lot easier than balancing on one of these. His grey-blue eyes scanned the area quickly and, upon seeing no sight of the girlfriend, let out a sigh of relief. He was NOT going to embarrass himself in front of someone he knew so well. Even if there was Curly Wade and Minnie there. HEY CURLY AND WHEATY.
... And... he was here. Yeah. Which only meant that he had to CHOOSE a shoe type. Frowning a little, Alec scanned the selection before picking up a pair of roller skates, only because they seemed to be a bit... easier to skate around in? Yeah, he was going to go with that. Easier. Frankly, the other one looked a bit scary with the wheels down the middle.
Heading over towards an empty bench, the boy sat down and strapped on the roller skates. He wiggled his feet around to try and get a feel of them before standing up. ... Yeah... he regretted this. A lot. How were people able to skate around in these--
... WHOA. Hold the snitch. Was that...?
... She looked familiar. Astro girl...? Probably good friend of Adrienne, the one who hated him and his lame jokes. But that wasn't what he was concentrating on. Instead, he was concentrating on her shoes and the fact that she was skating around in BOTH types of shoes provided. BLINK. He didn't think that was even possible but... How was she doing that?!
Questions flooded the seventeen year old's mind. There was no way he was going to get answers by just standing there, wobbling on his roller skates. Reaching over towards the wall, he started pulling himself along towards her. After a while, his fingertips began to hurt but... that didn't matter. He was too curious to just... let this opportunity slip out of his hands. So... he was skating. Towards the girl. HE WAS SKATING with the use of the wall! Was anybody seeing this? "How are you doing that?!" he asked, seemingly coming out of nowhere. Yeah... not creepy.
