Despite what Alec had been thinking, it didn't take long for someone to come up to him and accept his offer to partner up. And who was this mystery partner? "Curly!" he called, a grin spreading across his face, "Yeah, sure! That'd be great!" Team Hair Rufflers and all. Plus this gave them the opportunity to spend some time together before the end of the term.

... Yeah... he wasn't going to be thinking about that.

"So..." he said, holding onto his wand and runestone, "Do you know how to ride a Granian?" Pause. "Or any other horse?" Because Alec had no idea and there was a ray of hope inside of him; one that thought that if he was partnered up with someone who was good at horse riding, this whole thing wouldn't be completely disastrous. But if things went wrong... that would be a completely different way to end the term.

Also. Did it matter if they had the same runestones or...?
