SPOILER!!: little lovestruck Forrest <3

Fern had finished the tapping, and she had gotten on her knees to crawl through the opening and into the common room. She was a little upset she hadn't heard Forrest start to cry yet, but maybe it would take a few more weeks of pretending he was invisible for him to start feeling the effects. That was okay. Fern could be patient. He would miss her eventually. Oh yes.

Starting to scoot through, the first year stopped when she heard her fellow Hufflepuff speak. What was that!? She was right!? OF COURSE SHE WAS RIGHT.

Fern didn't turn around. She waited for the apology. The full apology, with at least 3 'sorry's' and maybe some groveling too. Scratch that. DEFINITELY some groveling. Forrest had called her a jerk.

But the full apology didn't come. Something MUCH BETTER did!

Letting out a delighted squeal, Fern quickly crawled backwards out into the hall and jumped up. All was forgiven, and she reached for Forrest's hands, not even waiting for him to take them before she started hopping up and down. "ForREST! Forrest, is Bristol finally your girlfriend! Oh, I'm SO happy for you! How did you ask her!? Have you kissed, yet!? Tell me all about it! All of the details!" Fern giggled, her freckled cheeks bright pink, "This is sooooo romantic!!"
