Mo was lucky that Nigel was a relaxed type of bloke, because it wasn't every day one's roommate asked to turn the close into a darkroom. Mo had no trouble creating a red flame, which he trapped in a jar on top of a trunk, but it was much more difficult to set up a small enough work bench to fit in that space... but big enough to hold both trays.

Into one tray, Mo ladled out his Devomotion Potion, a thick and goopy black potion that Mo had been spotting for a full month in the Potions lab. It smelled pretty powerfully, and Mo gagged a bit as he spread the potion out across the bottom of the tray. The other tray was filled with water from his wand.

Now to the prepared negatives. Mo lifted the first one with gloved hands and set it into the potion, watching it disappear as the goop covered it completely. In his head, he counted out the full minute until it was time to remove it from the potion and set it in the tray of water. With eager eyes, Mo watched as the picture started to form on the sheet of paper, vague images slowly showing up in front of his eyes. By the time he pulled it from the water and hung it to dry on the clothesline draped between two hooks, Mo was sure it was a picture of the castle. The moving part would come later, and he couldn't wait to see what turned up.

He continued the process with all the pictures, carefully setting them into the potion one at a time, and then moving them to the water a minute later. When he was finished, there were a dozen photos drying across the back of the closet and a very pleased Mo went off to clean up the mess.
