Alice would take that as a compliment; it was nice to have the ability to be inconspicuous sometimes when she stuck out like a sore thumb in plenty of other circumstances.

She reluctantly tore her eyes away from her pages and pages of strategies to peek at the other girl again. Were they small talking now?

Schuyler lifted her hands and placed them behind her head. As she looked up at the ceiling, she thought back to the glinting stars her father had charmed into the ceiling of her younger brother's room. Glowing a little brighter, then dimming again. That was part of the reason she liked Heath's room best after her own. In fact, it was a lot like the ceiling of the Great Hall here at Hogwarts.. only it just stayed starry.

The other girl's words broke her from her light thoughts. Blending in was good sometimes. "I wouldn't argue that," she said, bobbing her head to the side slightly. Her hands stroked the ends of her hair and she lifted them up to examine her status on split ends. But hearing the movement of papers again, Schuyler glanced over at Alice as she poured over her.. homework? Homework, probably.

She moved her head back and let the crackling fire do some of the talking.
