Jake looked up, already grinning, as Anya spoke. She knew him so well. He picked up a cupcake and peeled the paper off before taking a bite of it. "Mm, delicious..." Her cooking always was.

"I'd love that," he answered, turning his back to her so she could rub his shoulders. "I'm almost done, anyway. I've just got a little more to write." It was like she could read his mind. Not only was she here... with food... but she was offering to let him take a break. Those were all the things he had wanted thirty seconds earlier.
