He returned his attention to the dirt around the base of the flowering bushes, carefully removing each weed individually and adding it to his growing pile of weeds. There weren't many, but then these plants were highly managed. He supposed he would find loads more around the plants out in the student gardens, where plants were allowed to grow a bit more... naturally.
"Do you suppose plants like being sung to, even if you can't sing?" He patted the nearest bush again. Pretty bush.
He was flicking things at her, things she would overlook for the sake of the question he was asking. The function of a cat in a greenhouse?
"I dunno. I've never had one in here before." Was this like a trick question that she'd have to answer? Was his Ravenclaw brain working in overdrive again? That wouldn't be any good for her. He'd start talking in advanced Ravenclaw logic then merlin knows she'd understand little to nothing.
Felix not putting up a fight in her hands told her that he was just about ready to settle in. About time. Lex wasn't prepared to spend her afternoon chasing him around tables of plants and the like. Not today thanks.
And there went Mo asking even mooore weird questions. The fourth year tilted her head and gave him a curious look. It was hard to tell if he was being serious or simply asking questions to pass the time. She would go with the first one...just in case.
"I suspect they'll like any attention you give them. Most times they just sit in here in a lonely silence waiting for something to happen."
Mo's singing, no matter how terrible, would probably be the highlight of their day.
"You could give it a shot. If they suddenly wither and die, we'll assume it's a bad idea." Nodnodnod.
