"Vould you care for a brownie?" He slowly lowered his hand with the brownie in it. All yours, kid. Break a tooth on it.
There was a lot of silence happening right now and she probably would have thought it was awkward but see, she didn't. She was FINE with standing her and staring at him with a wide grin spread across her face. It was easily done. Just watch.
STARE.
It wasn't all that incredibly long into the new school year but she MISSED him. Like legit! People gave her LOOKS when she tried blowing them up. Her best friend disarmed her for trying! The nerve of some people. Sigh. But not him. Nooooooo, he was
different AND OFFERING HER A BROWNIE!!! Her grin got wider (if that was possible).
"Sure I'd love one!!" She said, taking the brownie but her brain forgot to mention the part where she actually ATE it so she just had it there in her hand while she continued staring.
"What have you been up to since you left? The new guy's nothing like you. He shows us pictures of our grandfathers and talks about things he won't actually teach." And more smiley stares.
