When the wall opened up Lex's gaze flew there almost instantly. There were lots of Snakes but she was only interested in seeing one and if that particular one didn't come out she would be forced to ask whoever had just come out whether or not Cassia was inside and whether or not they'd be willing to go get her. Even though Cassia had sat infront of her, probably to get a better read of her, Lex shifted along the floor until she was next to her then she rested her head on her shoulder.
At the moment she still didn't have anything to say and figured Cassia's greeting could just fade into the silence. That was what she wanted right now. Silence and someone who wouldn't cast at her. Of course, how could she be sure? Up until an hour ago she would have sworn on her bag of candy that Lottie would never and now she'd been proven wrong. The Snake could have been the same but she wouldn't think that right now, nope, she just sat there in the comforting silence. Comforting for her, she didn't know about Cassia but she'd appreciate if she'd let her stay like this.
Cassia fell silent and watched Lex shifting until she sat next to her. She tilted her head and only got a look at the gryffindor's hair. Her eyebrows furrowed as she realized for sure now that there was something wrong. Really wrong. Last time this kind of silence happened was on the way to the castle when they both sat in the carriage.
The snake let the silence stretch as she let her head tilt the other side and it touched Lex's. She sighed knowing that Lex needed the silence and wanting to find out what troubled her mind. Slowly she shrugged off her bag and opened it dumping the candies she had there before Lex. She knew it was one way that helped the fourth-year think or get rid of nerves or whatever it was that bothered her.
And if she didn't want to, then Cassia would have to call one of her
minions firstie friends to clean them up. Not that she had as much as Lex did. They probably couldn't be compared in quantity.
For now she kept silent. She'd try the talking thing in a bit.
