He looked away from her momentarily to view the swamp as he was drawn to it and had been since his arrival at the castle.
"I'm glad," Jezz said noting how distracted Cutty seemed to be. She looked back up at the stairs where he had come from and clutched her book even tighter. Looking back at him she cocked her head to the side. He was staring at the swamp. Thinking maybe? About his....deeds upstairs...
"Cutty what were you doing upstairs?"
She wasn't going to ask but her curiosity went and killed the cat. Why was he so worn and coming
down the stairs. If that had been the case they could have met up on one of the upper levels. Plus, she wanted to keep him out of trouble.
"Oh," she removed a ingle hand from the book and pulled something out of her bag.
"This is from Heather." She had held the package close for the past few days having promised to deliver it in person. She extended it to Cutty hoping he wouldn't faint.
