Sophie turned and glanced at Caleb as she continued her walk to the stairs. What had he been doing out so late at night, hmm? Astronomy homework, she would guess. Either that, or he'd suddenly turned into the Wizarding World's biggest science nerd.

"Stargazing? Erm, no thanks. I only do that when I have to," she said, yawning once again. She was just about to tell him goodnight and head to bed, when the candles flickered, and they were left in pure darkness. "Uhh," she mumbled, a million and one thoughts crossing her mind. What if something dark was out there? Not just darkness, but...dark? As in, what they learned about in DADA.

She didn't know the light spell yet, but she assumed it was easy enough. She could try it, but why would she when she knew that spell from Astronomy? "Solis Focalis!" she said, jabbing her wand forward. She did still have that magnifying glass on it, right? It must have been, because a second later, sunlight filled the area, helping her miss falling down the stairs by an inch or so. A second later, the candles flickered to life again, which was pretty weird and creepy.

"Err, I think I'm gone to bed," she said, not wanting to stay around for another light show. "Night, Caleb." She took the stairs and ended up in the dormitory a second later, where her nice, warm, safe bed awaited her.
