It was nighttime, and Sophie had been up late doing some homework. See, this was why she hated homework so much. She had so many other things she could be doing, like sleeping for example, and yet here she was, finishing the last of her assignment in the pitch darkness with nothing but a few candles here and there to help her see.

She dotted the last of her i's and crossed the final few t's and closed her book. With a sigh, she rolled up her parchment and stuffed it into her bag, along with the book. Once her quill and ink was put away she closed her back and stood up with a yawn. She wanted nothing more than her nice, soft bed right about now.

On that note, she left the study area and crossed the common room heading toward the stairs that led to the girl's dorm.
