"It...It's not like it changes anything," he said, "You're still with her and...I have nothing on you....Lottie'll be glad to go on about that." So, Ascanius should feel better? Ascanius shouldn't even feel bad. Aidan was less of a threat to his relationship with Penelope than a flobberworm.
