Why? Because he wasn't funny and everytime he tried to be, he ended up sounding lamer than usual. But at least this made her laugh! Alec liked it when she laughed so... he ended up grinning, a little sheepishly but it was still a grin. Did she know that she had a nice laugh? As for her comment, he paused, not knowing whether to make a cheesy remark or... to just be normal about this. Cheesy and lame wasn't a good combination so... "Too bad you're dating a guy who's nuts?" And HUGS! GRIN! He wrapped his arms around her and hugged her back, squeezing her a little as he did so.

Was she okay? Had she been surfing before? If not... this was probably going to be really hard, yeah? And her leg was wobbling. Unless the mattress was wobbling too but it wasn't so... "Try to keep your legs steady, yeah?" Because then she'd have a better chance of staying upright and not falling over. Not... that he was mention anything about falling over. Imagine if she freaked out?

But THEN. It turned out that they were coming to a stop, which made the boy grin and stand up a little straighter. "That was--"

What it was, though, he couldn't say because before he knew it, a number of things happened very VERY quickly. A sharp bump hit him around his torso, followed by a squeak and a flurry of blonde hair. And he went toppling onto the ~~cold, hard~~ ground, pulling her down as well because of their still interlocked hands. "Owwww..." he groaned, squeezing his eyes shut. What had happened? Why had there been a squeak? Were they... ON THE FLOOR?!

BLINK. Pause. "Are you okay?"
