"And then, of course, some of you simply thought WAY too hard. Mostly Ravenclaws, I might add with no surprise. It was hypothetical. Don't over think. And to clear something up, a broken neck doesn't always mean full paralysis. And you can still speak with cracked vertebra, but this is not Anatomy class, so let's move on."[/b]

Although pleased with the answers he got, the professor was actually mildly surprised that only a few students had mentioned the charm that he was actually looking for. And when the first student said it, he nearly jumped for joy. But... Pierson Fuller didn't jump for anything, so...

"Arresto Momentum!" The Charms professor repeated in a louder voice for the class to hear. He picked up a piece of chalk and wrote it on the board in big letters before turning back around to face the class. "Arresto Momentum... Simple, but sometimes tricky depending on your intentions. Someone tell me where they have seen this spell or heard of it being used before. Think History... Or, has anyone in here used it before? If so, for what?"

OOC: PS: I know HP books say Arresto Momentum merely slows the target down. HP movies demonstrate it as stopping objects completely and I am going for BOTH, so just roll with me. As far as your answer goes, think book uses and movie uses of the spell. Or just make something up!
Uh huh well that depended on where and how you applied the charm when it came to hitting you in the face or not, but West just eyed the professor and waited as he talked. Arresto Momentum? He knew that one. West put his hand up.

"When I was a kid I climbed on the roof and jumped off," Lets not elaborate on why, "And my sister used Arresto Momentum to stop me from dying and stuff." Obviously it had worked. Just saying.
